On the evening of April 18, the Golden Mask theatrical award, the largest in Russia, was presented at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theater in Moscow.
The best big performance was called the production of "The Cherry Orchard" by Lev Dodin. The award as the best drama director received for the play "Three Sisters" Yuri Butusov. The best actress was recognized by Ksenia Orlova, who played in “Retribution 12”, and the best actor was Igor Mirkurbanov, who plays one of the roles in the play of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater “Karamazov”. The best performance of a small form was called the production “Life for the Tsar” of St. Petersburg “Teatro Di Capua”.
The “Queen of the Indians”, staged in Perm, was recognized as the best opera performance. The artistic director of the Tchaikovsky Theater of Opera and Ballet in Perm received an award for this performance as the best opera conductor.
