The group "Mummy Troll" will soon go abroad. Namely: in the USA. In this regard, the American company SYNDICATE is preparing to release the first foreign official release of the Mumiy Troll group, timed to coincide with a large-scale tour of the group in the cities of North America.
The disc titled “Comrade AMBAssador” will consist of selected songs from the last two “trolls” albums - “Amba” and “8”. The disc will also include a Russian-language version of the classic hit “California Dreamin '” (“California Dreaming”), first performed by the popular American quartet of the 60s The Mamas & The Papas. All songs of the album will be presented exclusively in Russian.
In addition, it is very interesting that the cover of “Comrade AMBAssador” is decorated with Superman with the head of a tiger in Budenovka: a variation on the theme of combining the cultural symbols of the two countries. In the process of working on the design of the disc, ideas about using images of Warhol's Marilyn Monroe, Coca-Cola, Mickey Mouse, David Bowie, samovar, “worker and collective worker” were considered, but ultimately, the designers and MT leader Ilya Lagutenko focused on the tiger’s kitsch synthesis and Superman.
“We are sure that the brown bear, as a traditional symbol of Russia, has long outlived itself,” Ilya Lagutenko admitted to the Daily Show. “We grew up in the distant port city of Vladivostok, which became home not only for brave sailors, tireless explorers and ambitious rock musicians, but also for real Amur tigers. That is why our comrade is SuperTigr, on whose suit the logo of the Mumiy Troll group is emblazoned! The satellite, the nuclear briefcase and the oil rig, shown on the album, are symbols of the stunning energy of the group that is about to reach the opposite shores of the Pacific Ocean!
